CICC HealthTech Angels Pitch Event

The California Israel Chamber of Commerce (CICC) is looking to find tech solutions that are relevant for the current Coronavirus outbreak situation.  Over 30 companies had submitted their applications for a chance to pitch to angel investors from around the Bay Area, whose mission is to improve healthcare worldwide by helping entrepreneurs with disruptive advances in healthcare discovery and delivery.

Eran Tagor

Eran Tagor

Eran Tagor is a partner with Newport LLC, a unique national advisory firm, advising CEOs, board directors and investment funds on issues related to growth, special situations and challenges as well as the creation of paths to monetization events. Previously, Mr. Tagor was the Chairman of the Board and CEO of PowerSines Ltd., an international energy efficiency company. Prior, Mr. Tagor worked with Goldin Associates, one of the top U.S. turnaround and restructuring firms, involved in the restructuring related to some of the U.S. largest bankruptcies, including Enron Corp. and MCI/WorldCom, other turnarounds and special situations transactions, and served as an expert witness in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court. Earlier in his career, Mr. Tagor was a managing director with a Wall Street investment bank, where he was responsible for public and private financings, mergers and acquisitions, and involved in the firm’s principal investment activities.
Mr. Tagor earned his MBA (finance) from the Gabelli School of Business, Fordham University, in New York. He obtained his LL.B. (Law) Degree from The Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
Matt Garratt, salesforce Ventures Matthew Garratt is the Managing Partner of Salesforce Ventures and a Vice President of Salesforce, where he lead Salesforce Ventures, the corporate investing arm of Salesforce. Salesforce VC is one of the most active Corporate VC’s with the mandate of building out our ecosystem of partners through equity investments.

Previously, he was a Sr. Associate at Battery Ventures, where he is part of their cleantech group. Prior to Battery, he was Vice President of Plymouth Ventures, a venture fund in Ann Arbor, Michigan, where he led efforts to establish a cleantech initiative.

Salesforce Ventures operates as a venture capital firm. The Company invests in enterprise cloud and start-ups creating application primarily for mobile phones. Salesforce Ventures serves customers worldwide.

Amit Sridharan Mahindra Ventures Amit Sridharan is the Director of US venture investments and partnerships at Mahindra Partners Ventures. He joined the firm in September 2018 and his primary role is to establish the venture efforts of the Mahindra Group in the San Francisco Bay area and in the US at large. Before joining Mahindra Partners Ventures, Sridharan had 15 years of experience in both traditional venture and corporate venture realms, including US-based early-stage VC firm Pear Venture Capital, and as an India-based senior corporate venturer at diversified conglomerate Tata Group.

Established in 2010, Mahindra Partners is the private equity & corporate venture capital arm of the Mahindra Group. With assets under management of over USD 1 BN, their current investments span logistics, healthcare and renewables among other sectors. The portfolio and team is placed across India and Silicon Valley in the US. Partners USA invests into early stage, venture backed technology startups and their current US portfolio includes Avaamo and Cloudleaf.

Anil Achyuta Anil Achyuta is an Investment Director at TDK Ventures. He is one of the founding members of TDK Ventures and has reviewed over 360 start-ups in the last year. Anil has made two investments so far:

1) AutoflightX – an eVTOL start-up, and 2) in a cardiac imaging diagnostics company, where Anil serves as a Board Observer (to be announced soon). Prior to TDK Ventures, Anil was the Director of External Innovation Arm of L’Oréal in Boston, where he led multiple R&D and M&A opportunities in materials science, medical aesthetics, and digital health. Prior to L’Oréal, Anil ran several research programs (NIH, DARPA-funded), joint ventures, and open innovation initiatives at multinational companies including Draper, GSK, and Johnson & Johnson. He has a Ph.D. from Northeastern University in Chemical Engineering.

TDK Ventures Inc. is a $50M corporate venture capital arm of TDK, a Japanese multinational electronics company. TDK Ventures began in June 2019 and focuses on funding hard-tech entrepreneurs in areas such as Mobility, Industry 4.0, Health and Wellness, Robotics, IoT, and Energy.
